FAQs
Questions people ask a broker
Straight answers on how a broker works, what it costs and what happens when you claim.
On home, motor, travel and life cover, nothing extra: the insurer pays us a commission out of the premium you would pay anyway. On some commercial policies we charge a fee instead, and we tell you the amount in writing before you commit.
No. We place cover with a panel of more than thirty insurers and are not owned by any of them. The recommendation is the policy that fits, not the one that pays us most.
Call the claims line, day or night, or your named broker in office hours. We notify the insurer, deal with the loss adjuster and chase the settlement so you do not have to.
Yes. Adding a driver, moving house or changing your excess can all be done mid-term. The insurer recalculates the premium from the date of the change and we send you the revised documents.
Not unwatched. Around six weeks before renewal we re-run the market and tell you in writing whether the current insurer is still the right one, and what to do if it is not.
